Franklin-Portland Masterplan & Mixed-Use Residential

Location:  Minneapolis, MN

Description:  The intersections of Franklin and Portland Avenues was a run-down area of the city until non-profit developers strove to create a proud place.  What is termed the Franklin Portland Gateway consists of three phases of mixed-use development, the first of which I worked on while at Cuningham Group Architecture, PA (associate Architect of Record Urban Works, Ltd.).  The Jourdain consists of a 4,000 sf ethnic grocery store to anchor the structure at the intersection with leasable office space further down the streets and low- to middle- income rental apartments above.
