A successful business woman, the Client wanted to embellish her residence by providing a larger entertaining area, place a master suite away from the street in the back yard, and have an unique home office. She wanted to continue the post WWII cape cod style of the exterior, but wanted something more dramatic and modern inside.

• By eliminating interior walls and turning the 1-1/2 story existing structure into a lofted space, we were able to enliven the entertaining area and provide an open office above where she maintains an audible connection to the rest of the house below.

• Maximizing the existing structure via dormers and keeping the addition (master suite with lofted library) to a comfortable minimum emphasized quality over quantity, kept the construction cost within means, and preserved more of her back yard.
